Iceland

The Blue Lagoon geothermal pools, where it is possible to take a dip in 40°C water under the snow

Sigur Ros on the last night of their European tour in Reykjavík, what luck!

Looking at the Mýrdalsjökull glacier before climbing it didn't put me off!
Me in my crampons

It was pretty steep, without the crampons one would slide right back down to the bottom, or into a crevice as shown below!

Geysers at their base

Geysur erupting

Gullfoss waterfall. The spray from the water froze instantly on my hair and eyelashes, and also the ground - making it a very slippy and dangerous walk near the edge.

Check out the size of these tyres!

This photo was taken at 11am, the sun doesn't rise for long during winter in Iceland
